HJ Carroll Park Assessment Survey Lower Oak Bay Comments 5mph speed limit sign at entrance. (Then people will do 15-20mph) Add "Kids at Play" sign Have parks close at 10pm unless camped there. "Enforceable by law enforcement." Enormous amount of traffic after midnight, usually going to some seedy camper. Have Sheriff's Office patrol through park after 10pm on a regular basis. Move concrete blocks farther apart at the boat launch site to allow ingress/egress for kaykers, canoeists, and paddle borders. Question posed several times: Why was the boat launch allowed to deteriorate so badly? Lower Oak Bay Comments If county is increasing camping fees, put some upgrades to Lower Park. Repair gravel road so not so dusty from cars flying through. Camp Host signage. No sign indicating who or where camp host is. Have road crew come with backhoe to pull large boulders off the beach and restore to rip rap bulkhead. If necessary, get permit to fix sea wall. Lower Oak Bay Comments Move firepits in all campsites so not on top of campers/rvs/tents Two sites occupied by one tenter who had decided it was home; shouldn't there be a daily check on who is paying? People selling campwood. Did they have a permit? Can anyone sell whatever they want? Objection to water users/takers, filling up 150/200 gallons of water. Isn't that costing tax payers money?
