Rep. Kilmer and the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) are inviting local officials and community leaders to participate in a virtual federal funding workshop on
Monday August 7th, 2023 from 2:00PM to 3:30PM Pacific Time. The virtual workshop will cover FEMA funding opportunities including:
* Hazard Mitigation Grant program (HMGP) <https://www.fema.gov/grants/mitigation/hazard-mitigation>
* Funding for state, local, tribal and territorial governments so they can develop hazard mitigation plans and rebuild in a way that reduces, or mitigates, future disaster losses in
their communities. This grant funding is available after a presidentially declared disaster.
* Building Resilient Infrastructure in Communities program (BRIC) <https://www.fema.gov/grants/mitigation/building-resilient-infrastructure-communities>
* Funding to support states, local communities, tribes and territories as they undertake hazard mitigation projects, reducing the risks they face from disasters and natural hazards.
* Flood Mitigation Assistance program <https://www.fema.gov/grants/mitigation/floods>
* Funding for to states, local communities, federally recognized tribes and territories. Funds can be used for projects that reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage
to buildings insured by the National Flood Insurance Program.
* Assistance for Firefighters Grant program <https://www.fema.gov/grants/preparedness/firefighters>
* Funding for critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel, enhance efficiencies and support community resilience. This program aims to meet the firefighting and
emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.
The workshop will also cover how Rep. Kilmer’s office can be helpful throughout the federal funding process. If there are other partners you think would benefit from participating in
this workshop, please feel free to share within your network. Please just make sure that folks RSVP with me ahead of time.

Topics: Federal funding for hazard and natural disaster mitigation efforts, including floods, fires, and other hazards, as well as funding for fire departments and emergency services.
