were about 300 folks in attendance, with a strong presence and representation of New Jersey Sierra Club volunteers and members!
* Our on-the-ground organizers scored a big win when the City of Banning, CA, unanimously voted to generate a resolution to support Sierra Club-backed efforts to designate the new Chuckwalla
National Monument and to expand Joshua Tree National Park.
* Sierra Club’s decades-long effort to protect the San Gabriel Mountains and expand access to nature scored another win last month when elected officials, community leaders, and local
residents in the Los Angeles region joined Senator Alex Padilla and Representative Judy Chu at an event to call on President Biden to use the Antiquities Act to add 109,000 acres of
public lands to the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument! These champions have also introduced legislation that would protect these treasured landscapes.
