SUBJECT: PROCLAMATION re: Proclaiming the Week of August 21-25, 2023 as Jefferson
County Employee Recognition Week
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Each year the County honors employees by celebrating "Employee Appreciation Week." PERC (Public
Employees Recognition Committee) coordinates the event for the week which includes daily door prizes,
office appreciation day, bagel day, cookie day and a barbeque for employees and their families at H.J.
Carroll Park.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact as this is paid for by employees raising money: County money does not contribute
to these activities.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Proclamation re: Proclaiming the week of August 21-25, 2023 as Jefferson County Employee
Recognition Week

PROCLAMAT I ON
WHEREAS, Jefferson County is entrusted by its citizens to deliver an array of community
services aimed at protecting the community's health and safety, and enhancing the welfare of the
community now and for future generations, and;
WHEREAS, the County depends on the personal integrity and professionalism of its
public servants to carry out this responsibility, and;
WHEREAS, the public employees of Jefferson County continue to display efficiency,
accuracy, innovation, friendliness and a genuine care of the public trust in their approach to
serving the community.
NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County wishes to express
its appreciation of the services provided to the public by Jefferson County employees by
proclaiming the week of August 21-25, 2023 as:
JEFFERSON COUNTY EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION WEEK
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that the Board of Commissioners encourage all
citizens to join them in recognizing County employees for their efforts.
