In the 12 months since the President signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law:
* The private sector has announced more than $110 billion in new clean energy manufacturing investments, including more than $70 billion in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain and
more than $10 billion in solar manufacturing.
* Investments in clean energy and climate since the Inflation Reduction Act was signed have created more than 170,000 jobs, and the law is projected to create more than 1.5 million additional
jobs <https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f620288bb41dd81f9c715ef4d&id=b1e78dcb6e&e=1b00b68fe6> over the next decade.
* Public and private sector investments driven by the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1
billion tons in 2030.
* The Administration has already awarded over a billion dollars to help communities become more resilient and protect them from the disastrous impacts of climate change.
* American families are projected to save $27-38 billion on their electricity bills from 2022-2030.
* Nearly 15 million people are saving an average of $800 per year on their health insurance premiums, and millions of seniors on Medicare are paying less in out-of-pocket costs for prescription
drugs—including insulin, which is capped at $35 per month.

Statement from President Joe Biden on Student Loan Debt Cancellation for More Than 800,000 Borrowers
On August 14, the President released a statement on student loan debt cancellation:
“I was determined to right this wrong, and because of actions my Administration took, these 804,000 borrowers who have been in repayment for over 20 years will start to see their student
debt cancelled. Over 614,000 of them will have all of their remaining federal student loan debt cancelled once this action is complete.
Today’s actions come on top of all we’ve been able to achieve for students and student loan borrowers in the past few years.
This includes: achieving the largest increases in Pell Grants in over a decade to help families who earn less than roughly $60,000 a year; fixing the Public Service Loan Forgiveness
program so that borrowers who go into public service get the debt relief they’re entitled to under the law; and creating the most generous Income-Driven Repayment plan in history, called
SAVE. Borrowers can go to studentaid.gov <https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f620288bb41dd81f9c715ef4d&id=1cc8654a3f&e=1b00b68fe6> to apply. And, we’re not done.”

Tom Perez: “The Inflation Reduction Act is a game- changer for Latinos”
Senior Advisor to the President Tom Perez wrote an op-ed to highlight the benefits of this historic law to Latinos, including creating good-paying union jobs, lowering bills for working
families and tackling the climate crisis.
Senior Advisor Tom Perez wrote:
“This law opens a door to Latinos to opportunity for economic stability, and that’s all our families are looking for.
When President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) one year ago, it included a clean energy plan with a historic level of new investment in manufacturing. The president and
Democrats in Congress insisted that the plan had to be fair. Through the Justice40 initiative, we set a goal for 40 percent of the overall benefits should flow to disadvantaged communities
that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution”.
