Maintenance Specialist Start Date: September 2023 Full Time: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. Position may include some evenings and weekends Salary and Benefits: Benefits include paid time off, holiday, medical, dental and vision. Starting compensation will be dependent upon experience and range between $40,000 and $50,000 per year. The Maintenance Specialist supports HCSEG’s mission by making sure the Salmon Center facility is maintained and that equipment and vehicles are in safe and functional condition. The position is responsible for grounds, vehicle and equipment maintenance. The Maintenance Specialist will work with the Executive Director and other HCSEG staff to prepare for special events and activities on our 38 acre certified organic farm and public open spaces so that the site promotes HCSEG’s mission and goals. They will also plan and develop nutrition and garden education programs for youth in local schools, as well as for our 4-H club and summer camp program, Farm Stewards. This will include classroom based education as well as implementing experiential learning projects outdoors. The Sustainability Coordinator will also support our U-Pick community garden through volunteer recruitment and management, as well as community-wide workshops and outreach. They will also collaborate with staff and volunteers to plant, maintain, and harvest our food gardens and care for our 4-H farm animals. Sustainability Coordinator provides members of our P-Patch garden (which includes annually-leased garden beds) resources and support. You will also have opportunities to engage in other project areas at HCSEG, including research projects and habitat restoration!
