Agenda Date: August 28, 2023
Subject: Solid Waste Fee Schedule Implementation
Statement of Issue: Public Works staff would like to brief the Board of County Commissioners
on the timeline for roll-out of the revised solid waste fee schedule.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: The BoCC-adopted fee schedule includes charges
only supported in the improved scale software that is currently being implemented. IT
department staff have not been available for vendor training on the software update and the
needed technical support for testing and launch of the improved scale software.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Based on September, 2022 transfer station tonnages, a
one-month delay of the revised fee schedule would create $8,321.00 in lost revenue.
Recommendation: Public Works staff recommends revising the roll-out date of the new fee
schedule from September 4, 2023 to October 3, 2023.
