MINUTES
Special Meeting — Friday, August 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Drainage District No. 1: Chimacum Drainage District
This is a Hybrid meeting: Virtual and In-Person Attendance at
Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners' Chambers
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Greg Brotherton called the Special Meeting to order in the presence of
Commissioner Kate Dean and Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour.
DISCUSSION re: HEARING NOTICE re: To consider whether to dissolve Drainage District No.
1, aka Chimacum Drainage District: County Administrator Mark McCauley provided information on
the Chimacum Drainage District and stated that he has been in communication with agencies related to
this district. He explained that the hearing will help determine the best course of action. The
Commissioners agreed that the County should hold a hearing on this matter. After discussion,
Commissioner Eisenhour moved to approve a Hearing Notice for a Hearing Scheduled for Friday,
September 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse,
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA. Commissioner Dean seconded the motion.
Commissioner Brotherton opened the floor to allow for public comment on the motion. Hearing no
comments, he called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: After closing remarks provided by the Board, Chair Brotherton
adjourned the meeting at 2:14 p.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
