Other Increase of dump minimums and fees
Comments From an announcement in the Leader, I am reminded of the imminent doubling of dump fees. If you need to double the fees, okay, just say so. You say you want to encourage fewer
trips to the dump by doubling the minimum load. How has being open 5 days a week instead of 6 reduced the number of vehicles going through?
I never get close to the current minimums. I come to the dump when the yard waste pile gets to the size of my vehicle’s cargo area or when I’m leaving town and I have one or two bags
of trash to dispose of. Doubling the fee won’t make me take half as many trips. I doubt that most dump users can accommodate the huge loads that represent the new minimums.
Do you plan to provide a place for us to accumulate twice as much stuff, and provide trucks to haul it? No, I didn’t think so.
Rescind the change, or just admit that you need to increase the fees.
