I am writing to urge you to make some policy changes regarding the animal shelter. This is a very important and much needed facility for our community.
I would love to see the county make it a higher priority.
I believe many counties fund their shelters and I was disappointed to find that Jefferson county not only does not fund it, but they actually make the shelter pay rent. This is a shame.
The animals deserve better.
Also, their are plenty of kindhearted animal lovers who would undoubtedly help with maintenance and repairs pro Bono, instead of the shelter having to pay for such things.
Please consider delegating more funds and resources to our beloved shelter. They really need, and deserve it.
