Advisory Committee to Meet to Finalize Recommendations for over $900,000 in Title II funding for Forest Projects
Olympia, WA, September 5, 2023 -- The Olympic Peninsula Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet September 18th to discuss potential funding for projects that benefit watersheds and
forest-related resources on national forest lands in Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, and Mason counties.
Projects will be reviewed on September 18th and if needed, an additional date September 29th has been identified. The meeting(s) will be held in-person at the Field Arts and Events Hall

A total of $906,965 is available for natural resource projects in the four counties in which Olympic National Forest lands reside--in Clallam ($334,359), Grays Harbor ($154,465), Jefferson
($356,803), and Mason ($109,072) counties. This amount represents three fiscal years (FY2020-2022) of Title II funding made available through reauthorized payments under the Secure
Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000.
Each RAC consists of 15 members who represent a wide variety of citizen interests and are residents of each of the four counties within the national forest. The committee’s funding recommendations
will be forwarded to the Olympic National Forest’s Designated Federal Official for final approval.
All committee meetings are open to the public; a block of time has been reserved for members of the public to comment on proposed projects. Please contact Resource Advisory Committee
