Hi Heidi,
When the Land Trust Board passed our current strategic plan, they assumed we would need to add land protection staff in 2025 to meet the growing demand for permanent land conservation
in Clallam County. Since, we have been overwhelmed by amazing opportunities for additional conservation of habitat and working lands in some of the most iconic places on the North Olympic
Peninsula. To meet this incredible demand we must grow our capacity now, and your support will get us there <https://northolympiclandtrust.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2a560412753cc77f18a4d65b4
&id=5e49bc9a15&e=e371357277> !
I am grateful and excited to share that Leslie and Howard Fisher and two other generous families have pledged $96,000 in matching support to bring our community together to fund this
need! This harvest season, every donation to North Olympic Land Trust–up to $96,000–will be matched dollar for dollar, raising a total of $192,000! Donate today and help us meet this
match goal.

The timing of this match couldn’t be better. Mike, our Conservation Director, came to me with a problem: “We have a backlog of land protection projects, but we’re running out of conservation
resources–especially staff time–to meet the demand for conservation,” Mike stated with a bit of a grin.
Many of these conservation opportunities are too early to share publicly, but an example of one project I can discuss is a fantastic 20-acre piece of Dungeness farmland with irrigation
and USDA Prime soil in an area identified as climate resilient. This farm is on track to be permanently conserved by the end of the year, and is just one example of the many climate
resilient conservation projects we’re eager to move forward on. Support work like this today, and enable our community to conserve even more properties like this project. <https://northolympiclandtr

In addition, much of this year our team has been hard at work completing the due diligence on a complicated opportunity that unexpectedly arose to conserve some of the best privately-held
salmon habitat on the Peninsula. I look forward to sharing the details on this opportunity soon, but it has been an absolute privilege to work toward this amazing conservation opportunity
with Tribal partners.
Mike and I are humbled to see so many landowners coming to us with exciting and critically important conservation projects, especially projects that meet our community’s goals for conserving
lands which are most resilient to climate change. Succinctly: a backlog of conservation projects is a good problem!
My job as the Executive Director is to help the Land Trust meet this conservation need head on, but it takes a community of people to protect important lands, and that’s where you come
in. Support conservation today to double your donation!
