Workers hurt in Pier 58 collapse sue Seattle, say city job was unsafe
Workers who were demolishing Pier 58 on Seattle’s downtown waterfront when it partly collapsed in 2020 are suing the city and contractors over their injuries. In an email a month before
the collapse, an engineer from a company considering the demolition job asked the city about installing temporary supports and worried about the pier “toppling like a house of cards”
during demolition.
