Questions –
a. Why is available allocated LTAC funding for 2024 going down, while projected Fund 125
revenues, and administrative costs, go up?
b. If not being reinvested in tourism marketing efforts, how are the surplus LTAX funds
being spent in 2024 in accordance with RCW 67.28.080 and County Ordinance 02-0622-98?
[1] $800,000 was the total availability announced for 2023. Over $900,000 was actually awarded.
Bottomline –
It is more expensive to operate in 2023 than it was in 2022, with projections for of
continued inflationary rise of COLA into 2024.
All the while, JeffCo. Fund 125 -HOTEL/MOTEL & TRANSIENT RENTAL SALES TAX -
Revenues produce record levels of funding for supporting RCW 67.28.080 tourism
marketing efforts.
TCC proposes 1.69% increase over TCC’s allocated 2022 and 2023 awards in order to
“tread water” as we attempt to continue assisting the record growth of our county
tourism sector.
