The WA State Building Code Council (SBCC) is looking to pass a package of amendments to the nation's strongest clean-energy building codes to protect them from fossil fuel industry lawsuits.

Last year, communities from across the state came together to support the Washington State Building Code Council (SBCC) to pass some of the strongest, most climate-friendly building
codes in the nation, setting the stage for buildings to transition off of polluting fossil fuels to clean, renewable electricity.
Now, these codes are being targeted by industry lawsuits, and we need the SBCC to pass a package of amendments to help us defend them. Can you take action today to tell the SBCC to help
us defend clean codes for Washington State?

The proposed amendments maintain the intent of the strong clean-energy codes adopted last year, while strengthening them in the face of legal challenges from polluting industry. These
changes protect the transition of space and water heating in new buildings off of polluting gas and towards our state’s clean and affordable electricity.
