Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Mark McCauley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, P.E., Public Works Director/County Engineer /41/ Agenda Date: August 28, 2023 Subject: Center Road 2R Overlay MP 10.34 to MP 14.58 Project Project No. 18020960, CRAB Project No. 1622-01 RAP Project Agreement Amendement No. 2 Statement of Issue: The Board is asked to execute the attached County Road Administration Board (CRAB), Rural Arterial Program Project Agreement for Construction Proposal, Amendment No. 2, for the Center Road 2R Overlay MP 10.34 to MP 14.58 Project. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: Jefferson County typically schedules repaving of major county roads at a 20-25 year interval. The two road segments included in this Center Road project were repaved in 1999 (25 years) and 1994 (30 years). Repaving of these segments of Center Road now will restore the road surface before the road deteriorates to a point that reduces safety and to where significantly more extensive repairs would be required. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: CRAB authorized $277,400.00 in Rural Arterial Trust Account (RATA) funds on June 14, 2022 for the 2021-2023 Biennium. CRAB also authorized $1,200,000.00 RATA funds on May 22, 2023 for the 2023-2025 Biennium. With this Amendment No. 2 CRAB is authorizing an additional $233,300.00 RATA funds to be "borrowed ahead" from the 2025-2027 Biennium. Execution of this Amendment No. 2 will allow use of the additional RATA funds and bring the total RATA funds to $1,700,700.00 for this project. Recommendation: The Board is requested to execute all three (3) original Amendment No. 2 documents, and return all three to Public Works.
