MEETING MINUTES
March 27, 2018
Commissioner Dennis Cowan called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. in the presence of Commissioner
Ken Przygocki and Chief Examiner Steve Richmond. Chairman Bob Gebo was absent. Sheriff Stanko and
Jail Superintendent David Fortino were also in attendance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Przygocki moved to approve the minutes of February 27,
2018 as presented. Commissioner Cowan seconded the motion. The motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION re: Corrections Sergeants Examination to establish
Eligibility List; Sheriff Stanko and Jail Superintendent Fortino discussed the possibility of contracting
with Public Safety Testing to prepare the Sergeant of Corrections examination or have the Chief
Examiner prepare the examination. Sheriff Stanko commented on the success of the past examinations
written by Public Safety Testing for this position. He recommend to go with Public Safety Testing for this
examination. Jail Superintendent Fortino agreed with Sheriff Stanko's recommendation. Sheriff Stanko
requested a minimum score of 70% to pass. Discussion ensued and all were in favor of Secretary Shannon
contacting Public Safety Testing, getting a contract in place for writing the exam and set the target date
for the exam to be administered no later than May 19, 2018. Commissioners Cowan moved to execute a
contract with Public Safety Testing to prepare the Sergeant of Corrections examination and the minimum
score of 70% is required to pass. Commissioners Przygocki seconded the motion, The motion carried.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION re: Control Room Operator Examination and Advertising;
Chief Examiner Richmond confirmed he is preparing the examination and would have it available for
review at the next regular meeting. Secretary Shannon she will publish a notice in The Leader Newspaper.
The closing date for this positions will be Friday, April 20, 2018. The written examination is scheduled
for Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Sheriff s Office Conference Room at 1:00 p.m.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Cowan moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:51 p.m.
Commissioners Przygocki seconded the motion. The motion carried.
NEXT MEETING: April 24, 2018 or a Special Meeting if properly noticed pursuant to RCW 42.30.080.
