CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
May 29, 2018
Chairman Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. in the presence of Commissioner Dennis
Cowan and Chief Examiner Steve Richmond. Commissioner Ken Przygocki was present by phone.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Przygocki moved to approve the minutes of March 27,
2018 as presented. Chairman Gebo seconded the motion. The motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Update re: Corrections Sergeants Examination to establish Eligibility List: Julie Shannon, Commission
Secretary, reported there has been four (4) letters of interest received in the Corrections Sergeant
position. Secretary Shannon has supplied the bibliography for the examination to each candidate and the
examination is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. to accommodate the shift schedules of
the candidates. There is additional time for other candidates to submit their letter of interest so this
number may change as well. Commissioner Dennis Cowan and Commissioner Ken Przygocki will
administer the Corrections Sergeant examination in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO)
conference room. This examination has been constructed by Public Safety Testing and they normally
score the examination promptly and report the results to the Civil Service Commission Secretary within a
work week. At that time, Secretary Shannon will create an Eligibility List.
Update re: Julie Shannon, Commission Secretary, reported she has received five (5) Application in the
Control Room Operator position. Closing for this position is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 30, 2018, so
that number may change. Two of the candidates are repeaters from the initial examination where none of
the candidates achieved a passing score. The examination is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2018, in the
Jefferson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) conference room at 1:00 p.m. Chief Examiner Steve Richmond
and Chairman, Bob Gebo will administer the examination and score the results immediately afterwards.
Update re: Commissioner Przygocki expired term expires June 4, 2018; Secretary Shannon adverted
vacancy. This advertisement closes June 8, 2018. Applicants will be interviews at next CSC meeting on
June 26, 2018.

NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Przygocki moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:21 p.m.
Chairman Gebo seconded the motion. The motion carried.
NEXT MEETING: June 26, 2018 or a Special Meeting if properly noticed pursuant to RCW 42.30.080.
