CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
February 28, 2017
Commissioner Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m. by phone in the presence of, Commissioner
Dennis Cowan by phone and Chief Examiner Ken Swanson. Chairman Tim Perry was absent.
Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Dennis Cowan moved to approve the minutes of October 24, 2016 as
presented. Commissioner Gebo seconded the motion. The motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion re: Patrol Semeant Examination: The Board reviewed the process of administering the examination
for Patrol Sergeant Eligibility List and the option of contracting with Public Safety Testing to do the test writing.
Secretary Shannon presented the offer submitted by Public Safety Testing. Discussion continued regarding all the
options which led to all in favor of Public Safety Testing vs. Civil Service Commissioner administering the
examination for previous testing. Secretary Shannon to work with Public Safety Testing and the Sheriff's Office to
get a test written and a contract for services submitted to the Jefferson County Commissioners for approval. An
update will be given at the March Civil Service Regular Meeting.
Notice of Adjournment: Commissioner Cowan moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:40 p.m. Commissioner Bob
Gebo seconded the motion. The motion carried.
