CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
April 25, 2017
Chairman Tim Perry called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. in the presence of, Commissioner Bob Gebo,
Commissioner Dennis Cowan and Chief Examiner Ken Swanson. Sheriff David Stanko and Chief
Criminal Deputy, Art Frank were also in attendance.
Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Gebo moved to approve the minutes of February 28, 2017 as
presented. Commissioner Cowan seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.

OLD BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion re: Patrol Sergeant Examination: The Board reviewed the process of administering the
examination for Patrol Sergeant. Secretary Shannon presented the examination submitted by Public Safety
Testing and the questions submitted by the Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Stanko provided input on setting a
minimum passing score. Commissioner Cowan moved to approve a minimum score of 75% to advance to
the Oral Board section of the promotional exam. Commissioner Bob Gebo seconded the motion which
carried by a unanimous vote. Secretary Shannon will reserve the Chimicum Fire Station for the
examination scheduled on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Discussion and Possible Action re: The current Administrative Clerk Eligibility List expires April 27,
2017. After review _Commissioner Gebo moved to approve extending the list for one year. Commissioner
Cowan seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
Notice of Adjournment: Commissioner Cowan moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:20 p.m.
Commissioner Bob Gebo seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
