HomeMy WebLinkAboutM0725171820 Jefferson Street PO Box 1220 Port Townsend, WA 98368 Dennis Cowan, Member Ken Przygocki, Member Robert Gebo, Chairman Ken Swanson, Chief Examiner CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES July 25, 2017 Chairman Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. in the presence of Commissioner Dennis Cowan, and Chief Examiner Ken Swanson. Commissioner Ken Przygocki attended by phone. Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Cowan moved to approve the minutes of June 27, 2017 as presented. Commissioner Przygocki seconded the motion, which carried by a unanimous vote. OLD BUSINESS Discussion re: Corrections Sergeant Examination to establish an Eligibility List: Secretary Shannon gave an update on the Correction Sergeants Examination being prepared by Public Safety Testing. The examination is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Chimacum Fire Station. After discussion the Commissioners concurred that Chief Examiner Swanson, Commissioner Cowan and Secretary Shannon would attend and administer the examination. Discussion re: Review was given on process to Proctoring an examination. Example was given of Patrol Entry Interviews were conducted and no Oral Board is required, scores are not combined at that level. NEW BUSINESS Discussion re: Administrative Clerk Eligibility List:. The current list is exhausted and needs to be re- established. The Board discussed the process and timeline for administering an examination to create a new eligibility list. The Board concurred to hold the exam on September 16, 2017 at the Chimacum Fire Station. Chief Examiner Swanson and Commissioner Cowan will attend and administer the examination. Discussion ensued regarding the credibility of the existing examination. The Commissioners concurred to continue using the existing examination. A computer program examination could be given at the interview stage.
