Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Hello all; Not sure if this has happened yet at other county public meetings but it happened this week at our Planning Commission meeting/hearing. The "speaker" published a hate meme in our public Zoom chat and it was up for a short time before staff took it down and blocked them. If you're not already aware, I'd expect more of this so planning ahead for the response would helpful. The link below mentions that in Walnut Creek they are phasing out zoom access to public meetings to combat this issue. I'd hate to see that as public access to meetings I think is improved with hybrid access, but we also need to ensure public safety from hate speech. https://www.mercurynews.com/2023/10/09/in-the-battle-over-hate-speech-at-bay-area-public-meetings-are-the-zoombombers-winning/?campaign=sjmnbreakingnews&utm_email=B443B589147EE57424A88489A8&active=ye sD&lctg=B443B589147EE57424A88489A8&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=https%3a%2f%2fwww.mercurynews.com%2f2023%2f10%2f09%2fin-the-battle-over-hate-speech-at-bay-area-public-meetings-are-the -zoombombers-winning%2f&utm_campaign=bang-sjmn-nl-breaking-news-alerts-nl&utm_content=alert Cynthia
