We're offering FREE admission all day, starting at 11 AM. At 5 PM, the S'Klallam Singers will kick off the We Are One Exhibition Opening event. Stick around until 7PM for a delightful evening of refreshments and engaging demonstrations. Using both traditional materials and mediums more recently associated with Indigenous art, these artists carry ancient culture, images, and stories into the present. It might surprise you to know this has long been a challenging question! Join archaeologist Gary Wessen at Northwest Maritime Center to learn why. In addition to what is still unknown about the origins of marine sailing, Wessen will discuss the anthropological ideas and evidence we have from around the world that suggest ancient humans engaged in maritime activity.
