Municipal and county officials are consistently experiencing high levels of harassment and even threats, according to new data. This program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuels, improve air quality, and promote equity in access to electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This program provides $64 million in awards to eligible applicants who install electric vehicle (EV) chargers at eligible sites, with a focus on installations of chargers at priority sites. Priority sites include multifamily housing, public charging locations, tribal communities, and other historically underserved and overburdened communities. Both these fires occurred during August 18 – 25, killing two people and destroying more homes than any other fire in state history.
