Over $200k raised in less than two months by our community for land conservation. <https://mcusercontent.com/2a560412753cc77f18a4d65b4/images/a6690e70-9f93-1a6f-3cd2-29122cd9e92e.png> In late August, we shared with an ambitious goal <https://northolympiclandtrust.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2a560412753cc77f18a4d65b4&id=01de31f242&e=e371357277> - to raise $192,000 for local land conservation through community led 1:1 match donations. On Saturday, September 30th, 250 community members gathered at the 21st Annual Harvest Celebration at the Holladay Barn in Dungeness in support of protecting farmland. Over 40 volunteers put a collective 160 hours into making this beautiful day a success. It is with excitement and gratitude that we share with you that together we not only met our fundraising goal, but exceeded it. This community has raised over $200,000 for land conservation this harvest season, with more donations still coming in. This is no small feat, in fact it is one of the largest fundraising efforts in the organization's history. This remarkable community accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without your generous support. Over 178 households contributed to this amazing effort. Thank you! So far, our community has permanently protected 25 farms across Clallam County. The funds generated by our community this harvest season allow us to expand the organization’s capacity and help meet the increased demand for land conservation in our region. The farm grows enough food to feed around 45 families per week, processes tons of kitchen waste each year, donates fresh food to area food banks, and employs and educates a growing team of future farmers–each a minority in their field. And they do it all on less than one acre of regeneratively-grown vegetable beds. The folks running the operation, will be the first to tell you that what they do is about more than just harvesting delicious tomatoes and salad greens. The family processed it into firewood and is donating it to the Land Trust! We’re hosting a you-haul firewood fundraiser on Saturday 10/21 from 10 am to 2 pm, or until sold out.
