SUBJECT: ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATION (4) and APPOINTMENTS (6) re:
Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On October 16, 2023, notice was received from Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee (MRC) staff
member Monica Montgomery, that the following committee members will not be renewing their terms:
1. Nam Siu, Marine Science Representative
2. Brent Vadopalas, Marine Science Alternate
3. Solenne Walker, District No. 1 Representative
4. Joanie Hendricks, District No. 3 Alternate Representative.
MRC staff advertised for the positions listed, and other vacancies on the committee. The Jefferson County
Marine Resources Committee (MRC)received applications and conducted applicant interviews.
ANALYSIS:
After a complete review of the applicants, MRC is recommending that the BOCC approve the following
appointments:
1. District No. 1 Representative, Brad Bebout - Four-Year Term Expiring August 3, 2027
2. District No. 1 Alternate Representative, Timothey Behrenfeld - Four-Year Term Expiring
October 23, 2027
3. District No. 3 Representative, Joanie Hendricks -Unexpired Term Expiring March 1, 2025
4. District No. 3 Alternate Representative, Tim Cross - Four-Year Term Expiring October 23, 2027
5. Marine Science Representative, Emily Buckner- Four-Year Term Expiring September 8, 2027
6. Marine Science Alternate, Christopher Kelley- Four-Year Term Expiring September 8, 2027
RECOMMENDATION
1. Accept the Marine Resources Committee resignations
2. Approve the recommendations for the Marine Resources Committee
