November 3, 2022 Re: Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board Cannabis Social Equity Program To Whom It May Concern: The Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) is reaching out to cities and counties that have open retail cannabis store allotments through the Social Equity in Cannabis Program. You are receiving this letter and information because there is a cannabis retail license(s) available within your jurisdiction. The legislature created the Social Equity in Cannabis Program which authorizes the LCB to issue available retail licenses to social equity applicants for retail cannabis stores that were subjected to forfeiture, revocation, cancellation, or were not previously issued. Licenses for this program are designated by county. Meaning, social equity applicants are not restricted to specific city allotments by the LCB and applicants have the ability to find a location within any city, town or unincorporated area within the designated county. The city, town, or unincorporated area is not subject to the previously established retail license store allotments set by the LCB. However, the applicant is still required to comply with all local zoning requirements. For a full list of the current open retail allotments by county, please review this map <https://lcb.wa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/Social_Equity/SE_alotments-maps/map-wa-countymap-CCRS-allotment%20numbers-3-23-23.jpg> posted on our website. The LCB has begun processing license applications and applicants have been notified if they qualify for the program. Applicants are in the beginning stages of securing a license and if an applicant finds a prospective location within your jurisdiction, you will be provided with an individual notification. For more information about the program, please visit the LCB Social Equity Website. <https://lcb.wa.gov/se/cannabis-social-equity> If you have questions or would like more information, you may also contact us directly at LicensingSocialEquity@lcb.wa.gov <mailto:LicensingSocialEquity@lcb.wa.gov> .
