Each county, by RCW 36.81.121 legislative authority, is required to hold a public hearing prior to adoption of an annual 6-year TIP. The proposed 6-year TIP will be available for public review through the Commissioners' office, Public Works office and on the County website at the same time of the first published Notice of Public Hearing. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pros Et Cons: The attached Notice of Public Hearing will appear twice in the Leader. Fiscal Impact/Cost-Benefit Analysis: The TIP is a planning document. Fiscal impact and constraints of Public Works capital projects are reviewed through the adoption of the Annual Construction Program and department budget process. Recommendation: Authorize by motion to set a public hearing date for December 4th, 2023 and for the Chair to sign the Notice of Public Hearing. Notice of said hearing is to be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County. This hearing is for the purpose of receiving written and verbal testimony about the adoption of the draft Jefferson County 2024-2029 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program(TIP). "Each county shall perpetually have available advanced plans looking to the future for not less than six years as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation program, RCW 36.81.121(1)."
