HomeMy WebLinkAbout111523 Parks and Recreation Deferred Maintenance Grant SuccessDear Members of the Jefferson County BoCC,
I am happy to announce that Parks and Recreation won an $82,823 RCO Local Parks Maintenance Grant. We tied for 10th out of 157 applications.
The project is to:
* Refurbish Courthouse Park and Irondale Community Park basketball courts (similar to work at HJ Carroll Park)
* Purchase 22 heavy duty, ADA accessible, 8’ long picnic tables for our campgrounds.
* Clean the roofs of all the buildings at HJ Carroll Park
* Purchase a heavy duty pressure washer system to clean our courts and other surfaces
The grant has no match requirement and it’s fast. The work should be done by mid – 2024. You will see a grant contract soon.

Our whole team is working hard to present amazing parks and operate inclusive community recreation programs for the entire East Jefferson County Region.
