STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners appoint Tom Ehrlichman to an initial 4-year term
on the Conservation Futures Fund Citizen Oversight Committee(CFFOC)to represent District 2.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and COWS:
Three vacancies on the CF Committee, one to represent District 2,one to represent District 3,and one to
represent an Open Interest, were advertised in the Port Townsend Leader on September 6,2023. Ms.
Lowe and Mr. Ehrlichman each responded to the ad prior the September 22,2023 deadline. They were the
only two individuals to express interest in the seats at this time. On November 13'',the program
coordinator and two committee members interviewed Mr. Ehrlichman in person for this volunteer
position.
Mr. Ehrlichman is a resident of District 2 and a practicing attorney with the Dykes Ehrlichman Law Firm.
He does not practice law in Jefferson County; however, his wife works for Jefferson County. He's
practiced land use law for 33 years, specializing in growth management and shoreline policy, forest and
agricultural lands conservation, SEPA review, and tribal fishing rights. He served as chair for the Unified
Development Code Technical Oversight Committee for Snohomish County from 2002-4 and on the
Snohomish County Appeal Review Commission from 2009-10. Mr. Ehrlichman is also a recording
musician who performs with the Chimacum Creek Band and other groups.
The interview committee recommends Mr. Ehrlichman highly to serve a four-year term on the CFFOC
Committee.
FISCAL EWPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Mr. Ehrlichman to a seat on the
CFFOC.
