Dear Commissioners:
I understand the desire and need to build a new pool as the current one is in poor functioning condition according to one friend who is a regular user of the pool. I am writing to let
it be known that I think the County needs to reconsider the location and size of the facility if it wishes to proceed by taxing all County residents, that vast majority who will never
use said facility. I strongly agree with those who suggest Chimacum and Port Hadlock are better choices for County wide engagement in the project as it would likely be more affordable
and more conveniently located for ALL.
I am also very concerned that the financial accounting for the costs of the pool complex proposed for PT is terribly underestimated. Port Townsend and our County as a whole needs to
err on the conservative side for any major projects and our Commissioner needs to really listen to the County residents who are largely opposed to the pool complex project, as my husband
and I are.
Thank you for your time and please consider the need to re-evaluate alternatives.
