As a Director and Immediate Past President of the Olympic Peninsula YMCA, I have encouraged Wendy Bart's participation in Healthier Together. As you may know, the YMCA Board has authorized
an extension of the YMCA's contract with the City of Port Townsend to operate the existing pool at Mountain View Commons. The Board has also expressed support for YMCA operation of
a new aquatic facility, if the facility meets YMCA standards and is built and owned by a Public Facilities District or another public entity. Aquatics are an important component of
YMCA programs across the nation, including the YMCA pools in Sequim. We hope the Y will continue to play a role in aquatics in Jefferson County.
