Dear Commissioners: Brotherton
Dean
Eisenhour
I’m writing this letter to you all in regards to the Port Townsend Aquatic Center Proposal, which would have the center built in the city of Port Townsend.
After just finding out about this in Port Ludlow through “word of mouth” last month, it has been a really “hot” issue on social media and community meetings in the last few weeks.
My understanding is that this is a deeply flawed concept in both the financial, design concept, and selected location, and lacking other options.
It has also been brought to my attention that this proposal is going to be up for a vote in a spring ballot for the Jefferson County voters.
I strongly suggest that all the commissioners vote this ballot proposal down.
I believe an overwhelming majority of Jefferson County residents are against this “mega” pool complex being built and located in Port Townsend, funded by the entire Jefferson County
taxpayers for a small number of Port Townsend residents that would actually use and support it.
There are also questions as to why weren’t outside residents notified, an outside WA state consultant used, and no other location options; such as the Port Haddlock County acreage which
is located on the current sewer line being built there now?
Again, please vote this down until ALL the options are explored. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Tony Weller
