As a senior with arthritis, I am looking forward to this county pool/center being constructed. The only reason I don’t swim now is the chlorine level since I am chemically sensitive. The background research is thorough, the city has the infrastructure, [and the FAQs are so much more helpful than the PTPool lawn signs.] Port Townsend has posted the plan done in collaboration with credible partners with good track records.[Engage PT, Leader article—recent PDN article, not so much with conflicting financing proposals confusing property and sales tax in different sections of the same article.] Driving to pools farther out one the peninsula is a non-starter and transit doesn’t run often enough. This proposal makes so much more sense than an actual PT pool for which others in the county would pay higher use fees. County partners like schools in un-incorporated areas, the hospital, and YMCA are already serving the larger community. We are a peninsula. We need this. Thanks Kate for being on the steering committee in addition to all your other many layers of service! Kathryn E. Ryan 907 Rose St. Port Townsend
