Walter and Ms . Frances Braun 770 Mountain Trail Road Brinnon, Washington 98320 Re: Flood Ordinance Requirements Dear Mr . and Mrs . Braun: The location of your new home is within the 100 year flood plain of the Duckabush River . A11 new structures must be elevated above the level of a 100 year flood according to the provisions of the Jefferson County Flood Plain Ordinance. In order to establish the correct height of your new home, it will be necessary to provide me with the elevation of your homesite. The county public works department does not have any data on the elevation of the road in front of your lot . Mr . Sellman at 560 Mountain Trail Road ( 796-4992) has recently conducted some elevation studies for his lot and may be able to provide you with his elevations . You may wish to contact him to see if he is willing and able to assist . Otherwise, a surveyor or professional engineer should be contacted by you to establish your site ' s elevation. Measurements must be made to the National Geodic Vertical Datum (NGVD) . A reference sheet is provided for your use. Once you provide me with the elevation data, I will establish the minimum height for your new home and your building permit will be processed. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this matter . Sincerely, Bob Duffy BD:mkh Assistant Planner 4 7 enclosure /,\, 3 c Pli-orAtt/ °il . " cc : W. E.
