HomeMy WebLinkAbout112823 email Urging Standard Conditional Use Permits for Future Geoduck ApplicationsALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. To the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners, I have attended many of the meetings regarding the SMP update and heard all the arguments concerning geoduck aquaculture. While I live in Kitsap County on Hood Canal, I am located directly across from Jefferson County shoreline. I feel that it will be fair and ecologically sound to apply the same conditions at the SMP level in Jefferson county as in Kitsap and Clallam counties. I urge the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to require, in its update of Jefferson County’s SMP, a standard Conditional Use Permit (CUP) process for all future applications for geoduck cultivation, whether “new,” “expansions,” or “conversions.” Respectfully submitted, Benadette Olson 240 Tekiu Rd NW Seabeck, WA 98380
