In the Matter of Establishing a }
Health & Human Services Site }
Abatement Fund }
RESOLUTION NO. 41-06
WHEREAS, the Health & Human Services Department of Jefferson County needs to
"clean up" various privately owned properties due to various health hazards to the general
public; and
WHEREAS, Superior Court will issue Warrant of Abatement Orders for such sites; and
WHEREAS, the cost to "clean up" such sites will be initially be borne by Jefferson
County; and,
WHEREAS, the reimbursement for the costs to "clean up" such sites will be received
as a result of tax liens placed on such properties,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby directs the
County Auditor to incorporate this new fund into the County's accounting system as a special
revenue fund and to disclose such Fund in the County's Annual Financial Statements; the
Fund shall be known as the Health & Human Services Site Abatement Fund, number 126-
000-010.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the Board of Commissioners further directs that the
Treasurer establish a Health & Human Services Site Abatement Fund in the Treasurer's
financial system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that interest earnings for the Health & Human Services
Site Abatement Fund shall be deposited into the General Fund.
BE IT FINALL Y RESOL VED, that the Health & Human Services Site Abatement Fund
will have an initial working capital reserve requirement of $0.00 (zero).
