WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name
a private road, as shown on attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Ponderosa Place or Twins Place or
Shire Lane; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing
along the road; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently five (5) addresses assigned at
this milepost number; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue and Jeff Com 911 support the first name choice of
Ponderosa Place; and
WHEREAS, no negative responses were received for the first choice of Ponderosa Place;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road be named Ponderosa Place.
ADOPTED THIS 2nd DAY OF OCTOBER, 2006.
