WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition, Exhibit "A", to change the
name of a private road from Carroll Street, as shown on attached Exhibit "B", to Gifford Hill Drive or
Country Hill Lane or Desperation Place, pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System
Ordinance Number 12.20.270; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the majority of property owners along this road have expressed their desire for
this change by joining in this petition; and
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing and request for comments prior to or at the hearing was
mailed to property owners along said road and affected agencies on September 18, 2006; and
WHEREAS, JeffCom and East Jefferson Fire-Rescue support the petitioner's first name
choice of Gifford Hill Drive; and
WHEREAS, no negative responses have been received for the petitioner's first name choice of
Gifford Hill Drive;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the segment of Carroll Street from milepost 0.04 to the
end, at approximately milepost 0.30, shall now be named Gifford Hill Drive.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd DAY OF OCTOBER, 2006.
