Resolution No. 76-06
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road, as
outlined on the attached map (Exhibit "B") and more specifically shown on the survey of Quilcrest View
Tracts recorded at Auditor's File No. 325128, records of Jefferson County, Wa., either Eagles Nest
Drive, Silver Marmot Drive or Whispering Firs Drive; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing along
the road; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently two addresses on this road, assigned
from milepost 1.59 on East Quilcene Road; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, Fire Protection District #2 finds both Eagles Nest Drive and Silver Marmot Drive to
be acceptable names and Jeff Com finds Silver Marmot Drive to be the most acceptable name, due to
the other choices duplicating or being closely similar to existing names; and
WHEREAS, one adjacent property owner expressed support of all name choices by signing a
copy of the petition and another expressed a preference for the road type to be "road" rather than
"drive"; and
WHEREAS, NENA standards definition of "road" and "drive" are identical; and
WHEREAS, other than the road type, there were no negative responses received for the
second name choice of Silver Marmot Drive;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road be named Silver Marmot Drive.
