Dear Mayor, City Managers/Administrators, County Commissioners, Transit Administrators, Special District Administrators, and Supervisors:
The Washington Municipal Clerks Association (WMCA) invites you to confidentially nominate an outstanding municipal clerk (city, county, transit, or special purpose district) for the
prestigious WMCA Clerk of the Year Award. This award is designed to honor a member of WMCA who has made significant contributions and performed outstanding service to WMCA, the municipal
clerk profession, and to her/his community.
The nominee must have been an active member (fully paid dues) in good standing of WMCA for the preceding five consecutive years and must not currently hold the office of President, President-Elect,
Vice President, or immediate Past President to be eligible. The enclosed nomination form details the areas of accomplishment that will be considered by the Awards Committee as well
as suggestions for preparing your nomination.
The announcement of the Clerk of the Year award is scheduled to take place during the WMCA annual banquet on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Yakima WA. Once the President has made her selection,
the selected Clerk of the Year’s municipality and family/guest(s) will be notified.
As Past President of WMCA, I encourage you to reflect on the accomplishments of your Municipal Clerk and what she/he has contributed to your organization, community, and WMCA when nominating
her/him for this prestigious award.
Many of our members perform over and above their job duties without the opportunity for special recognition. Please keep in mind that being nominated for the Clerk of the Year award
is in itself a tremendous honor.
