I have been trying to figure out how big the proposed pool facility in Port Townsend really is. As far as I can determine it is 3-4 times as large. The best visual that I can come
up with is to think of the existing pool as big as a chicken egg and the new facility as big as a dollar bill. This is a guaranteed money loser and reminds me of the failed Cherry
Street public housing project now in the advanced stages of being torn down. We need a pool and not a spa.
I was somewhat confused when the proponents included "RVers" in the people who would use the free showers . Why would people with RVs need showers when they stay at Fort Worden and
many RVs also have showers inside. I finally figured out that they are talking about itinerants who live in their RVs and park on the streets.
