Hello.
I am a Chimacum resident of nearly 7 years who would like to see a pool built in our community, and I wanted to take a second to email you today in order to tell you so.
My family of four loves the water. We swim in the saltwater all summer long, and access to Puget Sound is one of the important things we enjoy about living in east Jefferson County.
My kids are 5 and 9; they are learning to swim, and we want to swim all year long for fun, to gain in-the-water skills, for exercise and for safety.
I am a teacher in the Chimacum schools. My wife is a small-scale flower farmer. We own our property and intend to be here for the long haul because we love where we live, we want to
keep raising our family here, and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be.
Having a community pool is important to us. We currently utilize the pools in both Port Townsend and Port Angeles. We support the idea of a pool in whatever form makes the most sense
for the residents of Jefferson County and Port Townsend. Build it in Hadlock, build it in Port Townsend. Build it wherever is feasible and makes sense for the pool's longevity and utility
for as many swimmers as possible. The worst option we can think of is for Mountain View Pool to close without replacing or improving it.
Please know that we support building and maintaining a public pool either in Port Townsend or east Jefferson County. We just want to keep getting in the water here as close to home as
possible.
