Dear Board of County Commissioners,
I urge you to require, in your next update of the Jefferson County Shoreline Master Plan, a standard Conditional Use Permit for all applications for geoduck cultivation--for the reasons
stated in the November 29, 2023, Shine/Discovery Bay citizen letter to the BOCC.
Geoduck cultivation creates serious and irreparable harm to our tidal waters. Properly regulating this activity is critical in light of declining salmon populations and the continued
deterioration of Puget Sound waters.
