Dear Commissioner Eisenhour,
I am writing to express my support for building a new aquatic center and to encourage you to support the recommendations presented to the BOCC in the final report developed by the Healthier
Together Aquatic Center project partners. Specifically, I am requesting you recommend moving forward with the project feasibility study so the public will have unbiased information
to weigh the merits of this proposal and ultimately, I hope you will support allowing the voters in Jefferson County to decide if they want a new pool through the proposed sales tax
vote in April.
As a physician, I feel that one of the more important services a community can provide is a robust aquatic center that not only provides recreation but also important education for teaching
our children how to swim. This especially important in a marine community such as Port Townsend and Jefferson County.
