To all 3 County Commissioners,
Very few people I know have an objection to an operable swimming pool in our area. Frankly, almost no one I know even uses the current pool at all. Most, however, look at this current
proposal and see a grandiose project way beyond our means. At this time of terrible inflation, rising taxes and infrastructure that needs help, we need to help out your constituents
by not overburdening them with any new taxes or fees! Please focus on vital services such as our ancient water system.
The funding plan for the proposed center does not seem accurate. Having the City of PT spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to keep it running is not feasible.
If this goes to a vote of the people, it will cost taxpayers at least $100,000. I believe if put forward to the people, especially those outside of PT but in the County, it will lose
overwhelmingly.
We pay our taxes in the expectation that those we elect will not squander our hard earned money. Why not look at less grandiose ideas, and a more central location?
