Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Ed, Like most, if not all work group meetings with public agencies & governmental bodies that are open to the public those members of the public are able to listen during the meeting but not actively participate in discussions. That same practice would pertain to virtual meetings. I have participated in meetings as a panelist where non-panelists were engaging in numerous side-debates/discussions, rendering the ability of panelists to effectively utilize chat meaningless. It’s not much different from an in-person meeting with members of the audience holding side conversations and/or asking questions to the workgroup. Members of the public are still able to listen in, all materials are posted online, all meetings are recorded, and you have the ability to email me directly to ask questions. Who made the decision to kill the ability for us to listen today at this carbon workgroup meeting and delete the option for us to put anything in the CHAT. Meaning we are totally locked out as any reasonable level of engagement. I don't give up that right, maybe Cathy Chauvin DNR or one of these other DNR staffers that are attending are there to represent our presence in the world. So no, if this outsourced entity decided to do this then who at DNR gave them the authority to do so. If the decision was with someone at DNR then this is a complaint I expect to solve without another delay; you tell me. I explained before the benefit of the public's engagement, apparantely someone feels that is no longer relevant. I forwarded this on to bluepoint. I too don’t have access to Mural so I understand your point! Are the materials being provided to the workgroup (brought up by John Talberth CSE request for the group), provided to the public? RFP was John's example. I did notice I am able to put things in chat, it is not my intent to burden the workgroup but possibly worthy of consideration parking lot thoughts. I hope your process doesn't take this option away from the listening public, but if you do decide to take this option away please let me know before hand, or is there something we the public can do to help keep the option there; I tried to use it productively today, non interference intent. I do not agree with Lauren Schmitt's explanation of needing a registration process for this process, if needed for the quorum I agree but not for the listening public. The Zoom meeting ID (that doesn't appear to require a password for the public listening) information should be posted up front on the agency's webpage about this committee. My own need has been solved for now, I appreciate that special handling, but we do have fellow citizens with the same privacy concerns and process issues (outsourcing/accounts) we do need to think about. Think about those that accept FaceBook and those that don't. https://www.dnr.wa.gov/about/boards-and-commissions/carbon-and-forest-management-work-group Carbon and Forest Management Work Group | WA - DNR <https://www.dnr.wa.gov/about/boards-and-commissions/carbon-and-forest-management-work-group> The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages more than 2 million acres of forested state trust lands across the state. On these lands, DNR generates revenue for counties, universities, and other trust beneficiaries, primarily through timber harvest. DNR also manages state trust lands for a suite of ecological goals, such as clean water and habitat for www.dnr.wa.gov <http://www.dnr.wa.gov/> MURAL link is only available to the committee? And the public can only view it on the screen share (or possibly trying to view in on a posted recording if that should happen in a timely manner and be readable)...that doesn't work, so provide the link as a PDR if necessary but this is a problem of openness and transparency! I shouldn't have to follow the moving sticky note with a magnifying glass. I do not accept Mindy's rule, my complaint to you Duane was posted on the chat exclusive: Why can't I log on as a visitor as mentioned by one of the members trying to log on, even if desired "read only", otherwise this tool is too restrictive and not a viable public program supportable? I did hear at the end the potential for public viewing but I do want to note that it appears that members can't use this tool during non-meeting/public viewable sessions. Will that activity also be viewable to the public in having a means to use the link in some fashion or "a record" to go back and look at? I agree with using Zoom, at least for us in the public because the Teams critter is a disaster in the woods. Good conversation about the loss of connectivity on having a quorum; hope that is workable. My comedy statement from today, don't human bodies store carbon too? (when the query was brought up about other natural components that store carbon like in the ground) But going back to my elementary school days and the Encyclopedia Britannica movie, what two words describe the vast majority of what the human body is composed of?
