Dear County Commissioners; Dean, Eisenhour, and Brotherton:
Please hear our voices:
Three Community Meetings were held in our County this month in Quilcene, Port Hadlock and Kala Point.
This is what we learned:
1. The pool is too costly to serve only ~212 swimmers/month.
2. No other options were presented to us.
3. All of Jefferson County will pay a tax to pay for it, including those people that live in Forks. Will they drive ~127 miles to use the pool?
4. We need to fix our infrastructure first and focus on immediate issues/needs in our county; Aging Roads, potholes, water and sewer lines systems and addressing homelessness and drug
abuse for better use of our tax dollars.
5. Fix the current pool.
6. This is not the time for a special election in April. Not all options have been explored.
7. Shower room safety for women/girls MUST be addressed.
8. Slow Down, Please. Let's rethink this. Maybe another less costly pool makes more sense in the Port Hadlock area. And remember, elected officials work for us, "We The People". If
we don't speak up, you won't know.
Thank you for your time and consideration to this matter.
Sincerely,
Victoria Hadley
