Dear Commissioners
The cost figures being bandied about are difficult to validate, however putting aside the capital costs and using the annual running costs for the similar and existing Port Angeles
facility of nearly $2M translates to an astounding $38K per week !
If the admission price of $3.50 per visit (Port Angeles) is used as a guide and leaving the existing city subsidy aside the remaining $1.6M would require a monthly patronage of 38,000
just to cover operating costs, if the current patronage is only a reported 212 per month there’s no way this can’t be a heavy burden on the county residents If every single resident
used it once a month it would still be in the red and still have to be subsidized by the city.
Something to think about.
