To the county commissioners:
I understand your concerns regarding a county-wide tax to support a new aquatic center built at Mt. View. As much as I feel it is an ideal location for a number of reasons, I would
support a pool in Chimacum or Port Hadlock if a more affordable location could be found.
I hope that you all thoroughly review the current proposal as you explore other options.
I depend on swimming for my physical and emotional well-being. And I know I am not alone. So many people would be negatively impacted by loosing this option. Moving in water is vital
for us with chronic pain.
I have seen so many proposals for a new pool come and go since I moved to Jefferson County in 1980. I truly hope you don’t close the door on the current movement when so many community
players our interested and working hard to make it happen.
I urge you to understand the work that has been devoted to the project already instead of feeling “overwhelmed” as was quoted in The Leader by Heidi.
Come to our current facility and swim and access how you feel afterward. You may prefer a form of exercise that is higher impact but you might grow to appreciate the unique aspects of
moving through water. You get the benefits of cardio yet your body feels relaxed.
